Thanks for a fab few days. The hosts Declan and Sarah are amazing and full of advice with things to do in the area. Lovely personal site with a great atmosphere, chickens wondering around and sausages and bacon on sale from their own pigs. There is very little light pollution so nice views of the stars at night, not forgetting the great views of Dartmoor. We will definitely be back again

Had a glorious 6 days camping here, our 3rd visit. Had all weathers August can provide but being so close to Tavistock and with wonderful views of Dartmoor we still had a relaxing and joyous time. Great position for many attractions and visits.

As usual when you arrive Declan and Sarah make you most welcome and again we enjoyed a relaxing stay at their well kept site. We were also very pleased with the new level electric hard standing pitches we stayed on that had been installed another upgrade for the lovely site. As usual there were the lovely products that are free range and home produced on the site Bacon, Sausages, and Eggs. And we again made use of the bus service just outside the site to visit Tavistock and the surrounding area. Thanks again Declan & Sarah.

A great campsite, such friendly owners. And friendly chickens!! All the facilities you need. Great for kids and good location for exploring the moor. Amazing view for breakfast! Will defiantly come back next year.

Travelling from France across south of England we stopped only one night in this simple cosy friendly campsite. Every thing seems easy there. You feel welcomed, trusted (help yourself to eggs and saussages, delicious we must say, just leave the money in the box! you'd never see that in France!)and you get perfect informations from the owner. The best moment: the visit to the 9 adorable piglets busy feeding with their contented huge mother! We'll be back for sure!
—-
What a delightful site this is. Amazing views, all the usual facilities plus access to fridge, freezer, washing machine and the all important WIFI. We were made to feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble for this lovely family run site. The dog walking area is a very well thought out facility and the free range poultry and Gloucestershire Old Spots are an additional attraction. Can't wait to return, may even try a winter break as the camping pods are heated!

I dont know if the same people own this site as on good friday 2015..I arrived at midnight on the friday in pouring rain and just parked on a pitch..after traveling in pouring rain for 4 hrs I wasn't in the best of moods and just wanted to park up...unfortunately I was parked in a bay at a slight incline..and getting the motor home out of the bay was, well you can imagine..with the help of the owner I made there nice turf into a ploughed field..I do apologise..the bloke was great and understanding
—-
Brilliant site, Declan is so welcoming, loved the home made sausages & free range eggs. Unfortunately we were only staying one night but will definitely be back.

Booked glamping for the misses and let's say she was knocked for six! Initially her laughter was not of joy but after settling in and after a few Vinos she was won over by not only the eccentric but endearing host Declan but the views and facilities were first class! Got to take time out to meet Bruce, the larger than life stallion pig and btw the sausages are superb! Fresh eggs and local pub were a delight. Hope to return in the future with our essex brigade! Great times thanks for having us X

With our family with 2 kids we stayed for 9 nights in July/August. A long stay gets you the best spot, with views over the moors. Warmly recommended. Especially if you like peace and quiet, chicken and ducks and fresh eggs and excellent sausages.
—-
Stayed for 9 nights in July/Aug The owners Declan and Sara were very welcoming, our grandchildren and there parents joined us for 4 days and they also enjoyed their visit, especially the ride in the trailer to see the pigs, chickens, and ponies.

Loved our stay here. We stayed in one of the Pods for a weekend break. The facilities were well maintained and clean. The owners Sara and Declan are very friendly and hospitable. They showed us around the site and showed us around the animal pens where we met Peggy the pig who is due to have piglets. We will definitely be coming back again.

We had a fantastic stay at the Old Rectory last Summer -

What a 'Gem' of a site, we have spend Christmas there, and enjoyed it so much even with the bad weather. the site is situated on the Devon and Cornwall boarders so perfect for exploring both counties, pitches are huge all hedged for privacy, a tenting field with superb views, also 'Pods'available. very good facilities , washing/drying machine, fridge and freezer all supplied. Chickens and Ducks wondering around really give you the feel of countryside living. This site is Magic, we cannot wait for summer. Declan and Sarah the owners are also caravanners , so you know you are getting the very best. Many thanks to you both, see you soon.

Thank you for a lovely stay at your site. We enjoyed seeing the animals, and also the peace and quiet was lovely. Washing machine and dryer very good value. Site well maintained, with good facilities.
—-
We stayed in the holiday cottage and it was fantastic!! It has everything you need and more. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming. They have all the local info you could need and further a field. All the great attractions are within a 40min drive. The site is extremely well looked after. They supply fridges, freezes, Wifi, you name it, they have it. At a very reasonable price you can even buy free range eggs and bacon from animals reared on the site. 3 Spaniels, a 10 month old boy, Mum and Dad highly recommend The Old Rectory.
—-
Thank you for a fantastic week. Sarah and Declan are lovely hosts, we were shown round on our arrival and made to feel most welcome, even with our medieval tent and camp gear. Superb views across the valley. A lovely peaceful and relaxing time, which we hope to repeat, soon.
—-

Stayed two nights in the camping pods at The Old Rectory. Never had this experience before and was absolutely blown away. The camping pods are adorable with a lovely decking and picnic area. The facilities were clean and very near the pods. Free wifi on the campsite was an added bonus! It was lovely waking up to the roaming chickens and ducks. Declan and Sara go above and beyond to make sure everyone is comfortable and to provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. I had the best time at The Old Rectory and I will definitely come back! Thanks very much for a great stay!

Spent 2 nights at The Old Rectory. Can't fault my experience, everything was fairly local, it was clean, it smelt nice, it was spacious, it was convenient. Both Sara and Declan were kind and helpful. They borrowed us a stove because we ran out of gas and they showed us round which was nice. Great people which is really appreciated when you are so far from home. I would like to have had nicer shower/toilet block but the shower itself was lovely and nothing is perfect! Lovely experience, would definitely recommend. Thank you Sara and Declan.
—-
Just spent the weekend at the Old Rectory campsite, the whole area is neat, tidy and well maintained. Free Wifi in the camping field which seemed better than at home, a fridge and freezer to keep your food cool, and clean showers and toilets. Chickens running free, pigs in the paddock and fresh produce from both animals available to buy from the fridge. The thing that sticks with me more than anything was the warm welcome, friendly chat and genuine interest about yourself and your stay from the host. Amazing facilities and just that little bit more special than other places. I will definitely be returning if only just to satisfy my desire to stay in a pod!
—-
Hi Guys, sorry we haven't commented sooner, we've been busy back at work and getting back into Auzzie life (and Winter!) We had a wonderful stay at Old Rectory Caravan and Camping Park.. The stay in the two person pod was very comfortable, especially with the ability to have controllable heating and electricity (perfect for phones and iPads) The facilities were very clean and well maintained. We especially appreciated the mini fridge, in the facilities area, so keeping milk chilled was no issue. The highlights for us were the friendly chickens and duck, being so close to Tavistock and Dartmoor, plus the warm friendly owners. Can wait to go back.

Just returned home after a fantastic weeks camping at the old rectory, we could have quite happily stayed for another week. The site is perfect if your looking for a small and not over crowded site, it has beautiful views and has all the amenities you need. Its great for children as they can safely run around the site and have the play area too . Probably the best thing for my family was the animals, especially the pigs ! My daughter is a big fan of pigs and spent every day in the pig pen with them feeding them apples, the ponies are very friendly too, much better than visiting any farm.Sid the owners dog spent most of his days in our tent with us which the children loved.Len and Sheila are lovely and work hard to ensure you have an enjoyable stay with them, when I told them my daughter loved pigs they arranged for her to feed them, she was over th e moon. Thanks for a great holiday.

We stayed here for 6 nights in June, the longest we have spent under canvas, and would definitely recommend to anyone! We are very fussy when choosing a camp site and this one suited us perfectly. We wanted a peaceful, relaxing time, the views were amazing and the weather was perfect for us. We planned a cycling holiday around Dartmoor and Len and Sheila provided a secure lock up for our bikes too. Being greeted every morning by the dog, Clyde (I think)and the chickens roaming around was great! You must try the sausages and eggs! The facilities were very good, clean shower and toilet block, washing up sink, fridge for ice blocks and very friendly, helpful owners. We will definitely be back! Thank you!!
—-
My family and I spent a week here in May 13 and had a fantastic time. The site is well maintained from the short grass to very, very clean washing, shower and toilet facilities. Every morning being able to wake up with chickens roaming around and with the added bonus of fresh eggs, bacon and sausages available to buy. we love this place and will return again hopefully in October
—-
A bit worried that this place will get too popular with all the fantastic things we can say about it! Loved every bit of it from free roaming chickens, relaxed atmosphere and more than friendly owners. We have said that we will be back as often as possible! Also so much to do around the area for families.
—-
We just spent 4 nights with our caravan on this site. Excellent facilities with lovely sausages bacons and eggs available. Clean tidy and friendly. One of the best sites we have stayed on. Would recommend to anyone.
—-
Myself and my partner stayed here for 3 nights March 2013 in a camping pod with our puppy. The pods are a great way to camp, and we had an amazing view of the stars without needing to stand outside. Waking up to the chickens on the farm on the patio. It was all fantastic and we'll certainly be returning. Also lovely clean showers and loos!! Highly recommend

Just got back from three days podding in August bank holiday weekend 2012. Never been podding before and we loved it! The site is small, family run which gives it loads of charm. The owners are friendly and helpful. The pod is warm, clean and dry as you would expect with the added convenience of two plug sockets with a lamp and oil filled heater. It was hot a couple days and torrential rain the other day so we experienced the site in all conditions; leaning out of the warm dry pod in the rain to cook was not only comfortable but added extra charm. The shower block is well equipped; two toilets + showers for male and female which were cleaned regularly, a pair of sinks for washing up, mini fridge restocked daily with their own eggs, sausages and bacon which you paid for using a honesty box (I thought was a lovely touch and something I don’t see often), a washer and dryer you can pay for and a freezer to freeze your ice packs. The site also had outdoor washing facilities for your muddy walks and an array of recycling for the conscientious camper. They also have a small number of pigs, chickens, cows and their own dogs; we enjoyed relaxing in the pod watching the chickens and dogs quietly running around exploring. We would both defiantly recommend this site, we were very happy and we look forward to staying here again!!
—-
We stayed here in May with our motor home. I would recommend the site to anyone. Everything beautifully clean and tidy and the pitches are well proportioned.
—-
Have just arrived home from a two night stay in the family camping 'pod'. It was really great! our children really loved it! Len and Sheila and the other staff very friendly. Shower and toilet block very clean. Plenty of space in the pod -

Just came back from a weekend here with my boyfriend, it was the best experience ever! Pod was really spacious, weather was lovely, toilet block was spotless, len and shelia were so nice! and we had lots of company off the chickens! Can't wait to come back!
—-
We stayed here in June with our two children and the dog. What a beautiful site .... very clean, lovely animals for the children to see, and a nice little play area away from the road and the tents. Showers and toilets always very clean with lots of hot water. Bacon, sausages and egg available to buy each day for breakfast. Owners very friendly and helpful. Lots of walks and things to see quite close to the site -
—-
We have just returned from a 2 night stay with The Old Rectory. There were 3 of us in the pod and there was so much space and it was lively and warm. The animals were fantastic and we loved the visits from Sid and Clyde ( the dogs), the chickens and popping down to see the pigs. You are made to feel extremely welcome and it is one of the mosteco friendly places we have ever been too. I'd go back in a heartbeat and will be recommending them to anyone who will listen!
—-
First time camping/glamping and I am so glad it was at The Old Rectory. We stayed during the Half Term in the family Pod. Sheila and Len made us feel at home. Facilities are very clean. Area is great for walks and relaxation. Look forward to seeing you again. Thank you for a lovely time!
—-
Very pleasent owner, could not fault the site and very resonable charge, would recommend to anyone,,,,very close to Dartmoor
My friend and i spent two nights in a camp pod and not being camper types, have to say we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was amazingly clean, as were the shower, toilet facilities. A wonderfully peaceful area with the convenience of driving to an array of locations, walking or cycling. Wonderful also to be able to interact with on site animals. Most certainly could not find fault with anything. The hosts, Len and Sheila are truly lovely people, who aim to please the customer.
—-
Sheilaspent nearly three weeks here between February and March. Site very clean and well run. Showers clean so was the washing up area. Couldn't find any fault. We have stored caravan with Len and Sheila and look forward to our next visit.

Stayed 2 nights in one of the pods in Sept 2011, and remained warm and dry despite the best efforts of the weather. The welcome was warm and helpful, with suggestions of cycle tours. Lovely little site, with a beautiful view and the animals adding a touch of fun.
